Folding Savonarola chair carved with rich ornamentation, including the Florentine lily, a symbol of Florence since the Middle Ages. This style, known in Italy evolved in the Renaissance from medieval folding chairs and has connections to the Roman curule seat, which was originally reserved for magistrates and symbolized authority.
The chair is foldable by removing the backrest and armrests.
